Being part of the Global Data Privacy team, the role will be based in Shanghai China, primarily managing data privacy compliance across BioNTech’s business and operations in China and the Asia Pacific region, including Australia.
Reporting to Senior Director Data Privacy, you will provide prompt advice to business leaders and stakeholders on data privacy risks and obligations under existing, new and potential data privacy requirements.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Leading and developing data security and privacy protection policies with data protection strategies, guidelines and objectives defined
- Expertise in data privacy regulations in China and the APAC region
- Support and monitor BioNTech’s affiliates‘ data privacy compliance
- Conducting privacy risk assessment, cross-border risk assessment, Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
- Developing China and APAC region’s data security and privacy awareness and competency
- Conduct research and analysis on existing and upcoming changes to all applicable regulations
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, representing the Data Privacy team in a professional, effective, and knowledgeable manner.
- Point of contact for all data privacy matters in China and the APAC region
- review and negotiate Privacy Contracts
- Identify potential data privacy risks and ensure adequate control are put in place to mitigate risks to the company
- Data Breach handling
- Being the first point of contact for Chinese data protection authorities (i.e., Cyberspace Administration of China) and act as key contact for local data Privacy regulatory and other enquiries
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing training
- Running training and awareness campaigns in primarily Mandarin
- Conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) that are required to document data processing activities in China
- Documentation of applications and processes including personal data primarily adopted in China
