The office in Riyadh complements the existing regional offices in the UAE and Qatar and provide a much stronger and resilient regional business structure.
The Role:
In line with the continuing growth of our global business, we now wish to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Associate Director [Mechanical] in Riyadh to develop a global design management capability for major multi-disciplinary projects.
The demand for this role will cross a variety of sectors but preference will be given to those who have international project experience, and/or experience in delivering major regional design projects.
Experience should be within a similar Project/Design Management consultancy role or within an appropriate design field.
You would be working on a variety of projects working with leading developers, architects and clients. We’re looking for people who have experience in commercial offices, both refurbishment and new build, education, hospitality, large transport hubs and or redevelopments. We’re currently working on several commercial offices with the remit to remodel and decarbonise, and the CAT B fitout of some of Riyadh’s prime office space for blue-chip clients.
The Associate Director will be will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership and management of their respective discipline groups as well as participating in the overall operational management of the KSA business. Leading teams of up to 15 staff they shall report directly to the KSA General Manager and collaborate with the Regional and Global discipline leaders.
The role will primarily focus on project delivery, people management and technical excellence, but will also include proactively supporting the Country Manager with:
- Business planning and strategic market assessments
- Work winning and Client relationship management
- Commercial and Financial management and control
- Recruitment and resource management
- Project management and delivery
The Skills:
The candidate shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in project management or a relevant design, planning or engineering field (e.g. Architecture, Civils, Structures, Building Services etc.).
The successful candidate will be given many opportunities to develop their career further with development paths aligned to our Engineering disciplines.
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. This involves managing the design teams, acting as the point of contact for all parties involved in the project (e.g. client, contractors, sub-consultants), and ensuring communication and project collaboration between the various channels is managed effectively.
This is a role which is central to the project success with a stimulating level of exposure to the wider project teams and stakeholders. It’s a challenging opportunity with great potential to develop your career and expand experience.
You will manage the design delivery, submissions, risk management, planning, commercial obligations, and progress monitoring whilst also ensuring the client objectives are understood and met. You will also be responsible for the management and control of all design management tools used on the projects such as programmes, schedules and trackers of client requirements and comments, multidisciplinary design meeting trackers, outstanding actions trackers, deliverable schedules, project filing systems and protocols, change control tools etc.
With the supervision and assistance of the project director, you will control the project team and assure the project delivery meets the assumed targets and commercial objectives.
The key criteria shall be as follows:
- Essential
- Honours Degree in Engineering (as appropriate - Mechanical or Electrical)
- Minimum 10 yrs postgrad experience
- Chartered Engineer and full Member of appropriate industry body (i.e. CIBSE, IMechE, MICE, IET, IStructE)
- Desirable
- Registered Engineer with Saudi Council of Engineers
- Arabic speaker
- KSA national
