Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this exciting role you will manage the in-house development design and BIM teams within Dandara Living. The role involves the management of projects from land acquisition through to planning approval and beyond (RIBA 1-4), with support required to other areas of the business, as necessary. The role also requires strategic input, liaising with other department heads and the CEO directly to support the growth of the business and improve efficiency and process.
This role can either be based in our London office in Soho or our Altrincham office so you will see two adverts for the one role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversight of development design management from RIBA stages 0-3, regularly checking and reporting on project KPIs at both departmental and board level
  • Provision of technical support, as required, to the delivery team during RIBA stages 3-6
  • Organisation and provision of support to investment team on bids
  • Staff resource planning
  • Management of staff
  • Innovation of ideas and processes to support the department and wider business
  • A key driver is risk mitigation across the whole spectrum of development. There will be a focus on technical risk mitigation to ensure abnormals are understood and mitigation costed at an early stage to facilitate deliverable developments.
  • Close monitoring of project efficiencies, including nett to gross, wall to floor and keeping ancillary spaces tight whilst exploring best value façade treatments and build methodologies.
  • Management of, or assistance with key business strategies such as; IT, business product, inter-departmental process mapping, consultant selection and management plus other targeted business strategies (e.g. Building Safety Act, accounting/finance, CDE, development/project briefs, Health and Safety)
  • Obtain and review regular build cost and development programme updates and support investment team with regular scheme appraisal updates
  • Understanding and management of in-house BIM team, coordinating departmental strategy and exploring innovative methods to improve outputs with the team
  • Close liaison with commercial and finance functions to keep projects on budget, forecasting cashflows and reporting on any anomalies or anticipated risks
  • Responsibility for ensuring invoicing within the team is monitored and payments are made in good time
  • Supporting our internal ESG team to ensure their requirements are captured from day one
  • Responsibility for consultant scopes and design responsibility matrices, ensuring all appointments have the correct information within them to deliver services to the requisite quality
  • Regular communication with delivery and operational teams to integrate end-to-end process
  • Troubleshooting and resolving strategic issues for the department
