Description:

This division brings together the functions of Trust wide Theatres, Anaesthetic & Critical Care teams whilst also having a portfolio of General Surgery and Urology Clinical specialities. The role has operational and strategic opportunities linking with the National Theatre teams, GIRFT, National Bowel Screening Programme teams and the Cancer Alliance. The post works closely with the ICS performance teams whilst leading the internal delivery of cancer and RTT performance.
We are looking for an effective leader with proven delivery experience in a fast paced environment who will approach this interesting and varied position with energy and enthusiasm.
The division has implemented a successful Theatre Improvement Programme across its sites and is leading the way with colleagues in the Specialist Surgery Division in implementing the Trust’s new dedicated Elective Centre (Elective Centre Ashford Surrey - ECAS).
Building on the significant progress made in running operational services and delivering effective leadership balanced with scrutiny, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the division to ensure that operational delivery ensures high quality patient care and enables the Trust to achieve its performance and quality objectives. This role will be involved in exciting new portfolio of work such as ECAS and working with partners to have the Elective Centre be GIRFT accredited.
Working closely with the Divisional Director and Divisional Chief Nurse the post holder will develop, direct and lead strategic direction, service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of flexible, efficient, effective and safe services across the division.
You will have senior operational level experience within the NHS with proven expert management and leadership skills in a diverse, service-focused, complex organisation including staff management, change management, performance management, and service transformation.
