Catalyx is seeking an Associate Director of Operations to work onsite in our office in Mechelen, Belgium.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an operational leadership role within the engineering or technology sector.
  • Experience in automation and service delivery is highly desirable.
  • Strong track record of hands-on project management and a proven ability to deliver complex, technical projects on time and within budget.
  • Proven ability to establish and implement operational practices and embed them within a team.
  • Experience with project finance modelling and reporting in operations and driving business performance through operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Fluency in Dutch, English, and French is preferred.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE :

The Associate Director of Operations for Mainland Europe will lead all aspects of operational execution in the region. This is a hands-on role, where success depends on the ability to design a plan for successful delivery of projects during the sales phase and then take responsibility, through your team, for their delivery when won to ensure timely and efficient delivery. You will establish and embed operational practices, while working closely with a dedicated PMO.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS :

  • Drive project delivery: Manage and oversee the delivery of engineering projects and service desk operations across Mainland Europe, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and time constraints.

  • Hands-on leadership: This is a role for a leader who leads from a place of deep understanding of the customer requirement we are fulfilling and can lead their team in successful execution.

  • Establish and implement best in class practices: Building on existing practices to take them to the next level and embed them within the execution model for the projects through the work of your team.
  • Operations strategy with an execution focused approach: Your role will be part of the wider company leadership group that has responsibility for strategic plan execution.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a multicultural team of engineers and support staff. You will help the team adopt best practices and build a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Financial control: Overall responsibility for the financial performance of operations in Mainland Europe through ensuring projects are executed within budget whilst also making the right investments in staff recruitment and development.
  • Customer Relations: Foster strong, positive relationships with our customers and other stakeholders ensuring that their needs are not just met but exceeded.
