Description:

DHCW is the digital arm of NHS Wales. We provide National solutions enabling providers of Primary and Secondary Care across Wales to do their work easier and better, improving the experience and outcomes for all patients, and reducing stress and pressures for the Clinical personnel. Our systems also unlock better utilisation of funds that Welsh Government provides for NHS Wales via improved efficiencies and holistic approach to digital healthcare.
The Operations Directorate is responsible for all operational service delivery for DHCW in response to NHS Wales strategy and standards as set by Welsh Government and the NHS Wales Chief Digital Officer (CDO), and for implementing and delivering a transformative digital strategy for the organisation.
The Associate Director of Single Record Products reports to the Chief DevOps Officer and is responsible for a portfolio that seeks to drive operational excellence across our suite of products and services, performance, and assurance of our technology estate, and to deliver health care services that are joined-up within DHCW and across government.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Be a senior leader, working autonomously, with the ability to co-shape the future of digital healthcare in Wales
  • Be guided by broad health and social care strategies, organisational policies and specific local and national guidelines, advising on how these should be interpreted and implemented
  • Have extensive technical expertise and be recognised as an expert by peers in the broader industry
  • Create a product-centric delivery model, and work on high-profile systems and solutions delivered at the National scale
  • Ensure efficient, strategic and operational management of services in line with the contractual obligations of the organisation and other interfaces
  • Have a thorough understanding of change and risk management fundamentals and practice, adapting to change to realize incremental value through cross-functional collaboration, measuring success using key results
  • Ensure delivery is accessible, secure, efficient, scalable, sustainable, and continuously improved, and it complies with the organisation’s commitment to user-centered service design, product, and agile delivery practices
