Job Description
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - RAIL
Dublin or Belfast based
Due to existing successes and future growth ambitions, we are looking for a high-calibre Associate Director to support client delivery and future growth in the rail sector. As a senior member of our growing team, you would be working to help us make a difference with our clients in delivering rail projects and drive business growth in the rail sector. You would be based in either our Dublin or Belfast office and likely spend your time with colleagues and client teams across the island. Associate Directors at Turner & Townsend work on business initiatives and a broad range of projects and programmes. We are looking for individuals with the following skills, experience, and behavioural attributes:
- Significant experience managing multiple disciplines / teams / advisors / clients on infrastructure projects/programmes across the lifecycle, ideally across sectors and clients. Proven and demonstrable success, and able to challenge / set strategy.
- Excellent leadership skills, capable of setting high standards and managing performance against these, utilising people and resources efficiently to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. Able to succeed in ambiguous and challenging environments.
- Leads and is accountable for the health, safety, and wellbeing of those within your sphere of responsibility.
- Ability to anticipate client challenges and determine applicable solutions, innovating as necessary, through your depth of understanding of stakeholder needs. Can do this sustainably.
- Promoter of inclusive teamwork, building and fostering trust with empathy, diving a ‘one business’ collaboration mindset within T&T and across clients.

EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years’ experience in the rail sector
- Experience of building strong client relationships and leading business development activities
- Experience building and leading teams
- Experience of end-to-end delivery of rail infrastructure projects, including infrastructure upgrades, renewals, electrification, and signaling, telecoms and controls
- Experience of developing delivery plans and strategies associated infrastructure programmes
- Experience of consultancy or client-side project management
- Familiarity with public sector organisations, non-departmental or arm’s length bodies relevant to infrastructure in Ireland
Qualifications
- Degree in a management, construction or infrastructure related subject, or equivalent experience
- Professional affiliation, qualification status with the APM, IEI, ICE, or similar professional institution
