HOW WILL I HELP?
The Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) is looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to join the Energy, Infrastructure and Resources (EIR) Team in Melbourne or Sydney. This team is responsible for high quality origination and delivery of best-in-class customer origination propositions for our client base.
As an Associate Director you will be reporting to the Head of Energy with primary responsibility for a portfolio of customers within the energy sector. The role also presents you with an opportunity to work as part of the team to assist lead WIB’s Renewable / Energy Strategy, and includes managing WIB’s origination, portfolio management and sponsor relationship activities.
Your main responsibility will be to service the full banking requirements of this portfolio through the coordination and utilization of WIB’s wholesale financial products and services. In addition, you will be required to fulfil WIB’s commitment to high standards in credit assessment, exposure, and risk management.
The key objectives of the role are to acquire and develop new client relationships and to service existing customers while also achieving year-on-year and return on equity growth by:
- Developing a trusted advisor relationship at the CEO / CFO / Treasurer levels as an industry expert;
- Leveraging resources within the Bank through exceptional team work;
- Being highly responsive and innovative to customer needs;
- Achieving high levels of cross-sell by having an intimate knowledge of the customer and the relevant industry sectors
- M anaging the credit risk/quality/other key risks (such as ESG risk) of the portfolio in line with strategic priorities (measured through annual risk objectives focused on hygiene, credit assessment, exposure management and the Teams commitment to NZBA)
