Job Description

Responsibilities:

We are currently searching for an Associate Director – Systems Engineering to come and join us here at AECOM in one of our offices in the UK and focus on the rail projects as part of the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team.
AECOM holds extensive knowledge in planning, designing and managing transportation systems — as well as restoring and replacing aging infrastructure — to help our public and private clients find smarter, more advanced ways to move people across cities, countries and continents.
Ideally, you are an established railway systems engineering professional and have experience of managing a team of systems engineering professionals.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Mentor: Team management – Line management of systems engineers, from junior to experienced engineers

Provide Expertise: Systems Engineering leadership – Railway system engineering subject matter expert for both internal and external clients

  • Development of system definitions, technical requirements and system architecturesManagement of technical requirements using appropriate
  • techniques and tools (i.e. DOORS, ComplyPro)
  • Verification and validation – experience of working with stakeholders to ensure project compliance

Ensure Quality: Development and ownership of System Engineering and Assurance plans and processes
Lead: Experience of leading systems engineering and assurance management throughout the engineering v-lifecycle projects

Collaborate: Develop scope of works and work packages with clients

  • Participates in multi-disciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
