Description:

RPS is looking for an Associate Director to join our Planning Team based in London (Farringdon). In this key position, you’ll be helping to grow and develop business, manage existing workloads, and provide mentorship to junior planners.
We deliver planning applications and permissions for some of the UK’s most important development and infrastructure projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use , data centres, airports, retail, logistics and renewables projects. We work with the country’s other leading organisations in the development of property and infrastructure and, provide integrated services drawing on other planning, environmental and design services offered by RPS.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

With experience within this sector, you’ll already be familiar with what we’re looking for: RTPI accredited Honours Degree and/or Diploma or Master’s Qualification, full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and experience of delivering consultancy to a range of clients. Good financial and project management skills are essential, as are great influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new client relationships and maintaining existing business
  • Line managing and mentoring junior planners
  • Providing input into business plans, chairing Planning Meetings, and taking a lead role in debates
  • Preparing fee proposals and providing input into tender submissions
  • Coordinating small/medium & large projects including reviewing project finances, overseeing the production of deliverables in line with the client’s expectations and ensuring delivery is on time and within budget
