Salary Range: £45,936 - £68,904 per annum DOE + red hot benefits
Location: Leadenhall, London – Office based at least 1 day a week plus customer visits and events.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist with both portfolio and origination in generating and optimising income and return on equity. The role is focussed on the care sector, with an opportunity to work on a variety of transactions and a skillset transferable to other areas within National Sectors and Strategic Finance.
  • Maintain excellent levels of customer service for existing borrowers and provide new to bank customers with a seamless on-boarding experience, working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
  • Assist in the relationship management and sourcing of high-quality customers, strengthening the brand visibility in the local and national marketplace.
  • Evaluate and manage opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Assist the team and network effectively with key players in the sector to reinforce Virgin Money’s reputation as one of the foremost banks providing appropriate and innovative funding solutions in this area.
  • Generate sustainable and attractive returns in line with the bank’s overall business lending strategy.

We need you to have

  • Experience working in corporate banking, understanding networks and stakeholders, systems and work processes.
  • Cash flow analytical skills with experience of reviewing a customer’s financial statements including excel and performance. monitoring.
  • Knowledge of financial and non-financial appraisal techniques together with exposure to report writing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to help and support internal decision making process in getting things done – right first time – for the customer.
  • Experience in striving for excellence and creating a best practice service environment that drives positive customer outcomes.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

  • A relevant industry or vocational financial services qualification e.g. Chartered Accountant, Chartered Banker etc. is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of – and ideally passion for – care.
