Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Wholesale.
Principal Responsibilities
Impact on the Business / Function
- Assist the Head of Wholesale Business (SE Asia) to develop the group wholesale distribution strategy
- Execute the group wholesale distribution strategy in SE Asia
- Drive sales, AUD and revenue growth for the group wholesale distribution business
- Implement effective sales and servicing strategy to ensure high customer satisfaction level
- Work closely with Marketing Team and Client Servicing Team to develop high quality marketing and sales materials which demonstrate HSBC Asset Management’s credibility
- Work with Product team to strategise on developing products suited for group wholesale distribution
- Be an active participant in the industry, participate in external conferences and key client events
Customers / Stakeholders
- To create and promote a client focused culture in the company
- Act as role model for Wholesale Business
- Work in partnership with regional and global teams to implement effective sales/distribution strategy
- Work together with the Product, Marketing and Client Servicing teams to ensure the right product/services are developed to achieve client satisfaction level and strengthen HSBC Asset Management’s value proposition in SE Asia
- Demonstrate strong investment knowledge and be the trusted advisor for clients
- Work with Marketing/Client Servicing/ investment professionals to develop the right sales pitch
- Enhance the professional knowledge (investment and sales skills) of Wholesale Business
Leadership & Teamwork
- Foster professional and positive relationship with clients, team and internal counterparts
- Work in partnership with regional and global teams to effectively implement sales strategy for group distributor relationships in SE Asia
- Ensure close and effective working relationship with different teams including Client Servicing and Marketing to maintain high standard of service pledge to all key clients
- Share best practices within the region
- Assist Head of Wholesale Business, SEA to develop sales strategies for the group wholesale distribution business
- Thought leadership on new product ideas and servicing model to strengthen SE Asian market leadership
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Equip with knowledge on sales process and KYC / KYD procedures
- Understand operational details and implications
Requirements
- Degree qualification, preferably in Finance
- Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM
- Over ten years of experience in similar role in asset management firms
- The role requires to work independently and to apply the right business judgment when setting priorities and direction
- The role requires an understanding of the group structure and will be working closely with colleagues across the Group
- The role must also establish close working relationships with key stakeholders in regionally and globally
- Require strong business acumen to grow group wholesale distribution business
- Manage multi-level and a wide variety of stakeholders for key accounts
- Manage priorities effectively to achieve business growth
- Require strong investment knowledge with deep understanding of the SE Asian market to drive sales
- Require strong communication skill to convey HSBC Asset Management strategy among teams and key stakeholders
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
