Description:
Contribute to the development of the Trusts People Strategy and the Trusts wider strategic plans and objectives. Design and delivery of programmes of work to support delivery of People Strategy, which is aligned to the organisations changing context and new ways of working.Programme management of the portfolio of strategic people and workforce projects and priorities including developing setting and monitoring of KPIs. Development of a framework of policies to support new ways of working. Lead on the establishment of a strategic HR policy framework including the design, development and successful implementation of new/revised policy which promotes competent, compassionate and inclusive people management practice.
Through effective and stakeholder management and engagement ensure that individual policies remain up to date and legally compliant, ensuring that they remain fit for purpose and relevant and flexible enough to meet varied, new and changing requirements. Work with the HR Business Partner for each of the Divisions to understand their business plans, ensuring the workforce implications are fully addressed and workforce plans, recruitment plans and education plans are put in place in conjunction with the rest of the senior team. Provides this intelligence to support the WOD business plan, workforce plan and the People strategy. Working through the HR Business Partners, ensure that the objectives from the People Strategy get traction across the Trust and are followed through in on-going discussions and actions.
Working through the Business Partners, devise strategies with local teams to ensure Trust values are embedded in an effective and impactful way.Develop and implement robust workforce planning processes including ongoing management of an annual cycle which is fully integrated into the business planning and budget setting cycle,Develop strategic people plans to support new ways of working, new ways of delivering care and growing the future workforce for the organisation, with particular reference to Oriel.Advise and support senior stakeholders in the development and modernisation of services and related workforce requirements to include effective workforce utilisation and deployment, role redesign, workforce restructuring, skill mix and management of change in line with best practice and Trust policy.Develop and promote productive partnership working with trade unions actively engaging them in strategic and operational policy discussion including change in practice as appropriate. As a member of the senior HR leadership team provide input and challenge to the people agenda, ensuring that HR operations, business partnering and OD services support integration and alignment to wider HR and business strategy activity. Work as a corporate leader, representative and advocate of the whole HR&OD function and leader within the Trust and outside.Provide a highly visible, competent, and coaching leadership style, which is consistent with the Trust values, building and maintaining highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Take the strategic lead on specific projects or pieces of work on behalf of the Director, working with colleagues across the function and the Trust and STP.
Make a positive contribution to the employee relations climate in the Trust through presentation and support of JSCC, LNC where relevant to activities. As a member of the Workforce team act as a panel member in dismissals and appeals and attend Employment Tribunals in support of the Trusts case, giving witness evidence as appropriate. (Whilst this is not the main focus of the role, it is a requirement of senior team members)
