Associate - Experimental Immunology (12-month contract)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a laboratory setting
  • Hands-on experience with tissue processing and cell culture
  • Experience with sample/data tracking
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Desire to be a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join the Experimental Immunology Team at our Amgen British Columbia site. The individual would be responsible for overseeing and coordinating our primary tissue biobanking efforts.

  • Work with suppliers and logistics teams to oversee shipping and receiving of tissue samples.
  • Perform cell isolation from primary human tissue samples and prepare for biobanking
  • Maintain accurate records and oversee sample management and distribution.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of existing discovery platforms by performing tissue processing, primary cell culture, and standard immunological assays.

The position would involve the cell isolation from primary human tissues, primary cell culture, sample management and tracking and general assay development. Well-suited applicant will have broad laboratory training and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment. This individual will also have a track record of creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for tackling difficult research challenges.
