We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Field Application Scientist to join SPT Labtech, based in the United Kingdom.
You will be part of the global FAS team which serves as the key interface between the sales team, marketing and customers. Providing expert-level support for our liquid handling suite of products.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- BSc with at least four years or MSc 2+ years practical experience in a Biological Science discipline, liquid handling, laboratory automation or related field in an industry or academic environment.
- Knowledge of NGS, liquid handling and automation and their application in a research laboratory
- Familiarity with workflow optimization in genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.
- Knowledge of genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50 to 75%, including internationally.
- Amiable personality; good organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills; professional demeanour.
- Ability to work efficiently and both independently and within a team structure.
- Skilled in delivering clear and informative presentations and training sessions, facilitating knowledge transfer effectively.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a personable, well-organised scientist with a strong background in at least one, and interest in all the applications our instruments are used in. In this specialist capacity, you will be responsible for running remote software demos and on-site instrument demos of our liquid handling product lines, dissemination of technical product knowledge, training in product applications and techniques. This role also requires excellent relationship building skills with both our internal commercial team and our EU customer base.
This role entails substantial travel within the UK and throughout Europe, with potential trips outside Europe. As such, this position must be based near a convenient travel hub in the territory. Being that we are a global company, you will be working with colleagues from across multiple time zones and territories, requiring some flexibility in meeting schedules. As our FAS team work remotely, you will have flexibility in your scheduled appointments with customers and colleagues, allowing you to balance your work and personal responsibilities.
