Description:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/KĀ PŪKEKA ME KĀ WHEAKO
We are looking for an adaptable, confident finance professional who has experience with month end accounting, financial reporting, analysis and commentary, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling.
You are an excellent communicator with a natural ability to build trust and form strong partnerships with stakeholders across the portfolio you support including the ability to guide and advise non-finance internal stakeholders.
Other key skills required include:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and professional finance advisory sector experience.
- Experience of financial management and accounting policy, systems, controls, and reporting.
- Analytical skills with a sound working knowledge of analytical tools.
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its application in financial modelling and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures of various funding agencies is desirable.
- Experience with Finance One preferred.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Finance, based at our Christchurch campus, in the heart of Te Papa Hauora, you will play an essential role providing expert financial advice, analysis and day-to-day support to executives and managers.
This role acts as the financial point of contact for key stakeholders across the campus, proactively partnering with managers to better appreciate business needs. You will join the central Finance Advisory team of fifty staff and reports to the Finance Manager and contributes to the overall success of the university.
