The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship brings together leading scholars in the study of strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and organizational behaviour.
Applications are invited for the post of Associate / Full Professor in Innovation/Technology Strategy within the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. You can be from any research area that involves the intersection between innovation, technology and strategy. The position requires a strong record of research and demonstrated excellence in teaching and service. You will contribute to the academic mission of Imperial College London to deliver world class scholarship, education and research.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
You will be expected to conduct world-class research that is published in both top-tier generalist and specialist field journals and to showcase thought leadership about how innovation, technology, & strategy can drive social change and inclusion, technological advancement, environmental sustainability, and/or economic development. We are open to scholars approaching innovation/tech strategy research through qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-method approaches and at micro- or macro-levels of analysis.
Major research topics of interest to the department include, but are not limited to:
- Innovation management
- Institutional and technological change
- Appropriation and commercialization strategies
- Business ecosystems and industry evolution
- Sustainable growth strategies
- Environmental and social innovation
- Competitive dynamics
- Intrapreneurship
- Resource allocation and redeployment
- Stakeholder integration
- Technology search strategies
- Issues of equity, justice, and inclusion in tech communities
- Alliances and collaboration strategies
The post holder will be encouraged to actively engage with the scholarly and business communities in the UK and beyond.
You will be expected to support and develop teaching in the Business School both through our degree programmes and executive education. In line with the School’s mission to drive global business and social transformation through the fusion of business, technology and an entrepreneurial mindset, innovation and tech strategy are critical components of the teaching portfolio. These topics feature prominently across our full suite of MBA programmes and in most of the Master programmes in the Business School, as well as in our teaching to undergraduates in the Business School and other faculties of Imperial. In addition, the post holder will be required to contribute to administration within the Department.
