Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Ph.D. Program in Urban Higher Education in the College of Education and Human Development is seeking applications for its Associate/Full Professor position.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
Terminal Degree in Research Methods with preference in Social Behavior .
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least six to seven (6-7) years of experience in advising doctoral students dissertations and serving on dissertation committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Established record of outstanding university teaching and guiding students through dissertation.
- Teaching experience at a college or university and a record of publications in referred journals.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to teach courses such as Introductory and Advanced Qualitative Methods in Education, Action Research, Case Study, Visual Research, Discourse Analysis, and Ethics, among others.
- Active research agenda.
- Ability to develop and teach graduate courses in qualitative research methodology and related areas delivered in face-to-face, online, and/or blended format.
- Ability to teach diverse student populations.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching Load of three (3) classes per year.
- Advise doctoral students in higher education research concepts.
- Serve on dissertation committees grounded in qualitative research methods.
- Support strategic initiatives across the school and campus and contribute to the ongoing development of the EPh.D. graduate program.
- Engage in research and publications (maintain an ongoing program of research and publication). Participation in program events such as Orientation, Graduation , Student Celebrations, Faculty/Staff Retreats, and other general events.
- Actively recruit graduate students.
- Provide service to the university and profession.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
