POSITION OVERVIEW:
Follett Software is seeking a driven and dynamic legal professional to join our Legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this position will be instrumental in supporting the organization by providing proactive and strategic legal guidance across all departments, with a focus on commercial contracts and data privacy
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Draft, review, negotiate and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including customer, partner and vendor agreements.
- Advise on data privacy laws and regulations, including reviewing and updating privacy policies, researching and providing proactive guidance on applicable new legislation and partnering with the Privacy and Information Security teams to ensure compliance.
- Support corporate legal matters, including entity organization, registration and various governance matters.
- Develop, implement and administer internal processes to ensure efficient and effective Legal team operations.
- Provide support as needed across other legal disciplines, including on matters involving intellectual property, regulatory compliance, product development and marketing, and labor and employment.
- Track and advise the business on emerging applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on risk management and business initiatives, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are properly reviewed and addressed.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- JD from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, including a strong focus on commercial contracts, with additional experience in data privacy. Prior in-house experience preferred.
- Prior experience with B2B SaaS strongly preferred.
- Education Technology experience a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively navigate competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build trust and effectively drive and influence cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven business judgment and demonstrated success partnering across all levels of an organization.
