POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking an Associate HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. The Associate HR Business Partner will work closely with the Senior HR Business Partners to provide support to employees and managers while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operating procedures. The Associate HR Business Partner will report to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
This role will be required to be on-site 2-3 days per week in the New York City office.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience to include employee relations
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong data management and analysis skills, to include proficiency with MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently requiring minimal supervision and is confident finding solutions for new situations
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of US labor laws as well as NY and CA state laws
  • Experience working with global organizations and interacting with different cultures
  • Proficient with Human Resources Information Systems (Workday a plus)
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $75,000 to $84,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in areas such as talent development, employee relations, change management, organizational design, compensation planning, performance management and employee engagement.
  • Provide objective and strategic input and guidance to employees and managers related to career development, general management, employee relationship issues and policy interpretation and implementation.
  • Work with Senior HR Business Partners to coach managers on performance management, feedback, employee development and career pathing.
  • Support Senior HR Business Partners with the annual performance management and salary and bonus administration processes. This will include analysis of performance ratings and internal/external equity.
  • Work with Senior HR Business Partners to conduct investigations as needed and support managers and employees in conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with Senior HR Business Partners to assist business groups to develop meaningful actions in response to employee surveys and feedback.
  • Conduct or participate in special projects and other HR initiatives as needed to meet overall company and department strategic goals and initiatives. Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above
