Description:

Loan Distribution Group (‘LDG’) is a dedicated and fully integrated underwriting and distribution platform for all of ING’s financing activities in the primary and secondary loan markets. The platform also covers the usage of the insurance market as a risk and/or capital distribution tool. In addition, it is responsible for the structuring and execution of various structured distribution solutions (including Forward Flow Partnerships, Structured Portfolio Sales and Significant Risk Transfers).
LDG is one of the 5 functions within ING’s Capital Markets and Advisory (‘CMA’) division alongside Global Capital Markets, Corporate Finance (including Debt & Capital Advisory), Corporate Investments and (Private Equity sponsored) Acquisitions Finance.
In EMEA, Loan Syndicate, responsible for the origination, structuring and/or underwriting of Syndicated Loans, has been set up in three different teams: EMEA Leveraged Loan Syndicate, EMEA Project, Asset Based and Real Estate Finance (P&ABREF) Loan Syndicate and EMEA Corporate, Financial Institutions and Trade & Commodity Finance Loan Syndicate.

Responsibilities:

You will be supporting the team in the origination, structuring, underwriting and execution of syndicated P&ABF loan transactions in EMEA. You will manage specific work flows together with the deal team on transactions that have a large impact on our clients. You will frequently work together with colleagues across the ING network and with external parties such as clients, other banks, and non-bank financial institutions;

Client and transaction coordination:

  • Support in the origination, structuring and negotiation of syndicated loans. This would entail the production of or delivering input to pitches relating to transaction opportunities and loan market updates to win lead mandates;
  • Support in giving our clients the best customer experience possible and position ourselves well for CM&A mandates;
  • Together with the Loan Sales team, you identify and maintain relationships with financial institutions and ensure a smooth distribution of transactions;
  • Closely follow loan market dynamics, including the relevant bank regulations, translate this into relevant market updates and take responsibility for up-to-date (investor) databases;

Transaction execution:

  • Assist in the execution of syndicated loans, such as negotiation of terms and conditions (term sheets, mandate letters, long form documentation etc.), preparation of syndication materials, Q&A with banks and maintaining an active dialogue with other loan investors;
  • Draft syndication advices supporting the primary sale of syndicated loans; including loan market analysis, opinion on credit structures, bank appetite, sell-down strategy and pricing;
  • Together with the Loan Sales team, you organize (virtual) bank meetings to generate demand for deals coordinated and/or underwritten by ING.
