DESCRIPTION
This is a combined posting for an Associate Laboratory and Laboratory Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. While assigned to the hospital laboratory, or other locations, performs procedures that are necessary for specimen collection on patients in all age groups (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) including patient identification, patient preparation and verification of specimen according to laboratory procedures. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety; environmental and infectious control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
Represent the Satellite Laboratory to the public, physicians, and patients while performing procedures that are necessary for specimen collection including patient identification, patient preparation and verification of specimen according to laboratory procedures. Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and environmental and infectious control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy program through a post-secondary school, college or military program.
- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
- Prior phlebotomy experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Successful and completion of an approved phlebotomy program, through a post-secondary school, college or military program.
- Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification
