Associate Lecturer - Professional Communication Foundations (HE6)

Professional Communication Foundations aims to provide students with the foundation to the media and communication industries. There is a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity and the importance of audience, purpose and context as essential structuring elements. Students will be taught the core concepts of communication, creative idea development, applied project work and industry practices, trends and tensions.
The course prepares students on the operation of communication in various social, cultural, political, ethical and organisational contexts. The students will also examine the intersections between the advertising, journalism, media production and public relations disciplines.

Job Requirements

• A Ph.D or Master’s Degree in related discipline from a reputable university or professional qualification in Communications
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level is preferred
• 5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage
• Must be available to conduct a weekly 3-hour lecture for a period of 8 weeks
• Must be available to teach classes during the day between 8.30AM and 6.30PM
