International Point of Care Incorporated (IPOC) is a Fortis Life Sciences company, based in Toronto, Canada, and is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the in-vitro diagnostic industry and research and development community. With a strong focus on rapid point-of-care testing, we offer contract IVD manufacturing, lateral flow components (including our advanced PrimeCare™ blood separation membrane), and custom lyophilization services.
IPOC is seeking for a qualified Logistics Associate to join our inventory and purchasing operations. This is a contract opportunity of three months with a possibility of extension and this position will report to the Head of Operations. If you are an experienced and competent individual with in-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures, then we’re looking for you! In this role, your duties will include maintaining budgets, analyzing materials, and researching vendors.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of the day-to-day activities of the Materials Management Department, which include Shipping, Receiving, Warehousing, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Material Handling and Facilities.
  • Handles the acquisition and availability of materials and equipment. Manages correspondence and contact with suppliers.
  • Handling all correspondence and negotiations with suppliers
  • Optimizing warehouse functions
  • Reporting any accidents or injuries that occur on the floor
  • Collaborating with internal departments to identify and close any operational gaps
  • Preparing and submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required
  • Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues
  • Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
  • Maintain supply chain inventory and record
  • Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to determine the best vendors and distributors
  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
  • Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes
  • Analyzes procurement metrics to enhance supply chain processes.
  • Able to conduct inventory analyses and risk assessments on supply trends and demand factors
  • Resolve issues that come up in a timely manner (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents)
  • Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g. use of trucks, and forklifts)
  • Coordinates completion of work on schedule in keeping with priorities determined by the Manager
  • Provide input to process improvements
  • Maintains department documentation such as database updates, inventory records, and manufacturing batch records.
