Description:
THE VACANCY
The role of Associate M&E Cost Manager is responsible for providing commercial support to the M&E Project Team, ESG Team and wider cost management team. You will be responsible for all elements of pre and post contract cost management relating specifically to M&E services. This will include early cost planning and estimating, providing advice on cost effective M&E solutions, considering cap X and op X, procurement and post contract cost control. Projects will include refurbishments and new build across most real state sectors. Role will require travel to sites and meetings from time to time.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Chartered Surveyor or relevant M&E Qualification
- Demonstrate a through understanding of M&E systems
- Experience of preparing detailed M&E cost estimates.
- Demonstrate understanding of current market conditions and matters effecting rates and prices.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Thorough understanding of M&E Systems
- Thorough understanding of the current cost of M&E systems and components.
Responsibilities:
- Early feasibility cost estimating, cost planning, advising on cost effect M&E solutions (cap X and op X), Value engineering relating to M&E, procurement, post contract cost control of M&E services, reviewing costs in ESG reports and reports by other Hollis services which include M&E costs.
- Support to Operational Engineering in sense checking / supporting provision of budget costs across TDD, Dilapidations and Planned Maintenance.
- Developing and maintaining a central costing resource, enhancing consistency and accuracy of advice given to clients
- Support to the M&E Projects team with specialist M&E cost advice into our budget cost plans. This includes specialist consideration of the consequential costs on refurbishment projects
- Support to the ESG team, particularly where they are providing M&E costings on Decarbonisation and NZC reporting.
- Support the existing QS team by providing expert advice on costs of M&E systems and also input on appropriate M&E value engineering
