Western Private Hospital (WPH) is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne, with the provision of acute services, which has 62 inpatient beds.
We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and suitably experienced individual for the role of ANUM within our overnight ward, and includes undertaking After Hours Hospital Coordinator duties, on a permanent part-time basis on Night Duty including weekends – with the ability to rotate onto AM/PM shifts for 4 weeks of the year or as required.
You will be working on the combined services Marion Ward which has 26 beds and principally provides care for all overnight patients, elective cardiac, medical and elective surgical. The unit also provides high dependency beds and services when required.
The ANUM role is a vital nursing leadership function that involves working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, providing exceptional patient care, undertaking mentoring and coaching by providing advice, clinical guidance, training & support to staff, supervision of staff, bed coordination, liaison between disciplines and departments and leading portfolio and project work to improve the patient experience.
The classification for this position is 3B ANUM (range from $113,893 to $117,721- per annum pro rata) exclusive of penalties & allowances + Super and 3.5% yearly increases as per Western Private Hospital Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2023 .
Selection Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1
At least 3 years’ experience working in Coronary Care, Cardiology, HDU or Cardiothoracics
Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care and current ALS certification
Previous ANUM / Nursing Management / After Hours Management experience highly preferred
Experience in clinical coordination, patient flow, bed and staff management
Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and practice
Act as positive model and leader in the unit, facilitating individual and team growth and development
Proven ability to lead portfolio work and engage staff effectively
Demonstrates the ability to communicate positively and to actively encourage a positive team culture and environment for patients and their families
Must be able to work collaboratively, as well as independently, and respectfully in a small team
Ability to think critically and decisively is imperative to the position
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting demands and manage time efficiently
Excellent working knowledge of patient management systems
REQUIREMENTS:

Must be vaccinated against COVID-19, Influenza and provide proof of immunisation against, or immunity to, infectious diseases as required per the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic) – NOTE: for this role immunisation requirements associated with Risk Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months, a Working With Children Check and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights (No Sponsorship available)
