Position Description
The McGill University Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time Clinician-Scientist position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) based at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The professorial rank will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences will support the successful candidate’s appointment as the inaugural holder of the Rossy Cedars Chair in Precision Oncology. The successful candidate is expected to develop a world-class clinical and biomedical research program in precision oncology.
The Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology is a leader in academic medicine. Our educational and research mission supports excellent and innovative clinical programs across our teaching hospitals. The successful candidate will join an academic and high-volume division at the MUHC—a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will play an important role in raising the McGill University Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology, the Cedars Cancer Centre at the MUHC, and the Rossy Cancer Network to be among the highest ranked oncology research and clinical practice centres in North America.
The successful candidate will be joining the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine. They will be expected to promote innovative clinical cancer care emphasizing precision oncology. The incumbent will also be expected to contribute to an excellent clinical research program across the Rossy Cancer Network of McGill University.
Clinical responsibilities will include rounding on the clinical teaching units, covering consult services, attending in outpatient clinics, and taking evening and weekend on call duties in Medical Oncology.
The successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Candidates must:
- Hold an MD degree and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;
- Have completed subspecialty training in Medical Oncology;
- Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent);
- Hold certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec;
- Additional graduate training in the form of a doctorate (or equivalent) and advanced research training in a relevant area related to precision oncology will be considered an asset;
- Have demonstrated excellence in research with a strong publication record;
- Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
