Description:

Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Payroll and Benefits Unit, the Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) is responsible for position control for the Energy Commission, works closely with the Budget Office and responds to inquiries and requests from Budgets and Accounting. The APA handles the more responsible, varied, and complex technical and analytical payroll and benefit issues while demonstrating a positive attitude and a commitment to provide quality service that is accurate, timely and exceeds our customers’ expectations. Develop departmental communications, provide technical assistance and guidance regarding the Energy Commission’s personnel management program to managers, supervisors, and employees, research and recommend solutions as necessary. The APA may act in a lead role over unit staff for training and workload purposes providing oversight on policy and procedural issues.
Minimum Qualifications (MQs): The MQs for this classification can be found at 5142 - Associate Personnel Analyst or 5157 - Staff Services Analyst. The documents you submit in your application package must highlight how you meet the MQs. If the MQs are not met, you will not be considered for this position.
Hybrid and Telework Employees: Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be relocated to California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.

Working Conditions
The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
