Description:
To support the delivery and operation of POCT services across the BSPS organisation with specific requirements to the LabKit/community team.
To maintain POC equipment as directed ensuring all protocols and quality standards are met
Work in accordance with departmental policies and standard operating procedures, to maintain high standards of patient safety.
Able to travel independently to any site where there is a LabKit p To ensure good stock control of consumables for all LabKit sites and a ensuring a centralised stock is present at other BSPS POC site
Maintain good communication within the POC team in order to maximise efficiency through agreed priorities and to achieve the aims of Point of Care analysis on a daily basis
In liaison with other senior staff to ensure the department’s quality standards are maintained and to troubleshoot any areas failing to meet these standards
Participate in the audit of quality control measures within LabKit and Point of Care. To include departmental audits as necessary
To participate in IQC and other quality checks as necessary
To participate in the provision of External Quality Assessment services both in house and to external customers
Evaluate and implement new technologies to enable an improved and more efficient service
Work with other members of the POCT Team to achieve and maintain accreditation against relevant ISO standards and comply with national POCT guidelines
