In this role you will undertake challenging work advising high-net-worth private individuals, family offices and private companies on strategic matters including all types of private wealth trusts, commercial trusts, estate planning structures, structures to effect charitable and philanthropic giving, trusts and fiduciary arrangements. We are looking for a candidate with experience in a high-calibre private client, family office and/or trusts and estate practice acquired at a national law firm, accounting firm or specialized boutique law firm. The right candidate has a commitment to exceeding client expectations, enjoys intellectual challenges and finding creative solutions for clients, as well as the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously. Professionalism, excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and diplomacy will be essential. We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
Experience structuring and drafting trusts, wills and powers of attorney
Experience with reorganizations undertaken for strategic tax and succession planning purposes
Familiarity with cross-border issues and post-mortem estate and tax planning is an asset
Candidates must be a member of the Québec bar; STEP membership will be considered an asset
In return, you will receive strong mentorship and support and gain exposure to high-end work to develop your skills and expertise in this space. You will be part of the highly collaborative team from day one.
