JOB SUMMARY:

DCL Entertainment (Toronto) is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company Canada and serves as the rehearsal headquarters for DCL’s award-winning theatrical productions. Based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Associate Production Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the rehearsal process for multiple casts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in entertainment stage management or production / theatre related position.
- At least 2 years’ experience as an entertainment assistant stage manager or production assistant role
- Experience and understanding of Disney Character & Theatrical operations considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated scheduling, supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with competing and changing priories.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Computer proficiency including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to use Keynote is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Production Supervisor on all aspects of in-studio rehearsals for performers including: taping floors; props and costume presets; set presets; running track; prompting lines; managing breaks; holding cast to expectations.
- Support Production Supervisor on daily schedule planning and distribution of changes and updates.
- Provide in-studio back-up to Production Supervisor when needed.
- Attend and participate in informational meetings with the cast.
- Can be called upon to lead meetings, presentations and briefs with cast regarding expectations, shipboard procedures and other operational needs.
- Studio set up for various meetings and read throughs as needed including: music; chairs; music stands; tables; partnership with Tech Team on AV equipment needs.
- Maintain and update script, scores and music changes as necessary.
- Ensure positive and productive interactions exist amongst cast.
- May be required to travel to the ship for technical rehearsals and for 2 – 3 weeks at a time.
- May be required to work rehearsals on Saturdays.
- May be required to work long days on some occasions, starting early and finishing late.
- Agreeable to all maritime sailing and seafarer guidelines, requirements and regulations, including sailing onboard the DCL ships statused as “crew” and assigned to the crew manifest.
