As Head of Discipline, your role will focus on inspiring people leadership, fostering a positive team culture, and driving performance. Additionally, you will lead the development of curriculum innovation, including creating new programs across our campuses. Consequently, regular inter-campus travel will be necessary.
The University expects that the successful candidate will also act as discipline leader for Construction Management for a three-year period that may be renewable by mutual agreement. This role will run concurrently with the ongoing EFA position.
The Faculty of Science Engineering and Built Environment is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and ground-breaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Architecture and Built Environment.
AS AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION-FOCUSED, YOU WILL:
- Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across discipline within the university. Lead the review of units, courses, and quality assurance processes across the discipline. Lead and integrate industry, clinical and/or research practices to inform unit / course design across discipline in peer institutions or nationally.
- Lead the discovery and adoption of innovative teaching practices at university level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
- Design collaborative learning opportunities that span the discipline within the university and involve learners, teachers and the community. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive learning experiences and resources at the discipline level.
- Lead the creation of effective assessment tasks and rubrics, implementing innovative practices to enhance learning outcomes. Provide clear criteria and feedback to students, demonstrating their progress. Moderate assessment tasks and offer academic support to improve student success.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Professor, Construction Management, Education-focused Academic will lead teaching and teams to design and develop courses and materials which influence teaching across the discipline or across multiple disciplines and provide our students an excellent learning experience. This Education-focused Academic will also develop and lead academic or other collaborations that enable and manage growth alongside novel teaching activities that are recognised nationally and ensure deep impact of academic activity in the field and community.
This position is suited to a person with a strong track record in leadership of teaching and learning at university level, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.
