The Faculty of Science Engineering & Built Environment is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and ground-breaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Engineering

AS AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, EDUCATION-FOCUSED, YOU WILL:

  • Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across the discipline within the university. Lead review of units and courses across disciplines within the university and lead refinements. Lead and integrate industry, clinical and/or research practices to inform unit / course design across discipline in peer institutions or nationally.
  • Lead the discovery and adoption of innovative teaching practices at university level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities that span the discipline within the university and involve learners, teachers and the community. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive learning experiences and resources at the discipline level.
  • Lead the development of effective assessment tasks and rubrics across discipline within the university and implement innovative practices to improve learning outcomes. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes. Lead moderation of assessment tasks at discipline level. Provide academic support to students within units and courses and work collaboratively to improve student support services to optimise student outcomes.
  • Build a culture of collaboration and educational excellence across one or more disciplines and effective unit, course and discipline teaching teams.

This role will drive impactful pedagogical research, scholarship, and creative activities while fostering collaborations that deliver innovative teaching approaches. Nationally recognised, these efforts will create significant academic and community impact.
This position is suited to a person with an established record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.
