Job Description
Duke-NUS Medical School, a US-style graduate-entry medical school in Singapore, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Associate Professor/Professor to join its medical education research unit. This role resides within the Education Advancement Department, dedicated to maximising faculty members’ educational impact and fostering an ecosystem for globally recognised work in educational research. The Department is led by a senior researcher and supported by a full-time qualitative researcher, creating a collaborative and research-focused environment.
Duke-NUS has strategically positioned itself for success in medical education research, supported by a robust infrastructure that includes an integrated data platform accessible across Departments and initiatives with national leaders to secure essential post-graduate outcomes data. To further support this role, Duke-NUS provides access to an active Technology Enhanced Learning & Innovation Department, led by a senior researcher and supported by a full team investigating high-fidelity learning technologies. The Office of Education also has a small cadre of academic staff available for collaborative projects, as well as a rich network of potential collaborators within arm’s reach, including world-class experts in its signature research programmes, such as the health services and systems research, and through its academic clinical programmes, and the Centre for Quantitative Medicine. This extensive network of collaborators and resources are designed to enable this position to drive high-impact research and lay the foundation for establishing Duke-NUS as a leader in medical education research.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attract competitive grant funding from the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, external foundations, and Singapore’s Ministry of Education and/or Health. Working across research departments within the medical school, the successful candidate will drive research that connects student performance outcomes with clinical effectiveness, support evidence-based educational practices and contribute to training excellence by cultivating a mentored research ecosystem.
