Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Louisville School of Medicine values a culture of diversity and inclusion and is seeking a full-time academic specialist in the Gynecologic Oncology Division. The rank for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, with options for Assistant or Associate levels.
The U of L Department of Ob-Gyn and Women’s Health is comprised of 16 full-time physician faculty with representation of board-certified subspecialties of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), Gynecologic Oncology (Gyn-Onc), and Female Pelvic Medicine Reproductive Surgery (FPMRS) and members with focused practice in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) and Advanced Family Planning. Our team also includes three Certified Nurse Midwives and four women’s health Nurse Practitioners. The department has a strong residency program of 24 residents that actively participate in section activities during their training. Current fellowship programs include FPMRS, minimally invasive gyn surgery, and maternal fetal medicine.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities for this physician educator include: direct patient care, clinical coverage, surgical duties, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and collaborating with other faculty in clinical research, quality and safety, and academic projects. Opportunity for Division Director role.
Qualifications: Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, board certification or eligibility, and qualifications to obtain an unrestricted Kentucky Medical License. Previous faculty experience in an academic setting is preferred. Salary and academic rank are based on qualifications.
