Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, the role of the Associate Program Manager is to manage several projects independently and seamlessly in parallel with product launches, discontinuations or transitions, including supply chain changes ensuring visibility to the cross-functional team, as well as management into any potential risks, issues or roadblocks.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or an Undergraduate degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
  • Three to five years of relevant project management and operations experience.
  • Experience in working with multiple partners to create and execute against project plans.
  • Proven capability to successfully work independently and within a team.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with working knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good distribution practices (GDP).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skill to coordinate with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders including third party providers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft SharePoint tools.
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Using project management tools, lead the development of project plans with cross-functional team to identify milestone dependencies, risks, and opportunities for accelerating launches and/or supporting supply chain changes.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve issues and identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Find innovative solutions to resolve issues with internal and Global colleagues to determine the best path forward.
  • Ensure new product introductions (NPI) to launch excellence (LEx) key learnings are captured and communicated during meetings. Where appropriate, facilitate the sharing of key learnings amongst commercial brand teams.
  • Assist and or lead technical evaluations involving third-party packagers (TPP’s), third-party logistic (TPL) to improve overall supply chain (i.e., importing frozen product, over-labelling, rework, etc.).
  • Interface with third-party packagers, third-party laboratories and third-party logistic providers to implement new projects by providing technical requirements and project management framework/skills.
  • Facilitate the use of the Global launch readiness tool with brand team members for new product launches.
  • Provide training on the launch readiness tool and process to the commercial brand team and facilitate launch mapping sessions, as appropriate.
  • Update new product introduction SharePoint and launch readiness database (and any other required database) with accurate information.
  • Act as affiliate subject matter expert (SME) of the data stewardship program (DSP) and ensure Global standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are understood and implemented at the Affiliate level.
  • Participate, when necessary, in NPI/LEx and/or DSP Global discussions to ensure AbbVie Canada needs and concerns are addressed and any changes are communicated proactively, when possible.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities related to NPI/LEx or to existing departmental SOP’s and processes.
  • Develop technical justifications and provide technical support to Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance (QA), Commercial and Medical teams when required.
  • Lead monthly launch excellence meeting to ensure all team members are aware of project progress, issues, and potential delays.
  • Participate in QA audits as operations SME when required.
  • Support compliance to federal environmental regulations including chemical management plan and new substance notification requirements.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects related to supply chain, QA, regulatory or commercial areas of the business.
