Description:

EQUANS is looking for an Associate Project Director to join our team in London on a 24-month fixed term contract basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, and benefits package.
The associate project director has overall responsibility for the successful conclusion of construction projects. You will oversee project managers, who coordinate teams to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard. The associate project director will provide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time.
This role will be three fold, firstly overseeing the portfolio of organisational projects, providing expert knowledge and support and monitoring progress and reporting on the portfolio status.
Secondly managing projects directly through the Sector Project Managers and actively coordinate the delivery of new projects through the PMO.
Finally, the development, introduction and on-going iteration of the organisation’s Project Delivery Approach. The role is expected to provide strong leadership in a continuously changing environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery. This role will also ensure project resources have the correct toolsets and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped to deliver successfully. Strong project or programme management and excellent organisational skills are fundamental, as is the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation.

TECHNICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To support, create, oversee, and control delivery of the PMO project plans for the business whilst working closely with account leads
  • Should have sound technical knowledge and a background in a similar industry to help write scope of works documents for projects that are in line with any best practises, BS standards or HTMs/HBNs and other industry guidance
  • Consult with the local site teams to ensure that the correct contractual route is being followed, an example of this being the level of maintenance to justify approval for replacement and then creating the relevant technical justification for a Draw Down Request
  • Understand and be able to objectively review Compliance, Legislative and Operational documentation, and manuals

PROJECT MANAGEMENT DELIVERY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and manage projects through resource plans, communication, and processes
  • Creating scope of works documents
  • Schedule timeline planning
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Analyse all management and technical processes to ensure project delivery is successful
  • Monitor sub-contractor compliance with national standards, HTM’s, best practice and legislation or as required within the Project Agreement, FM Agreement, and other associated contractual documentation
  • Lead on budget and resource allocation
  • Training of operatives
  • Co-ordinating the Handover stages of a project
  • Making sure all projects and associated documentation e.g. RDS, Drawings, O&Ms etc. get filed in a chronological order to protect the long-term project hand back requirements
  • Ensure environmental and health and safety standards are met
  • Ensure the HSAW legislation is fully observed at all times and that EQUANS SHEQ policies and procedures are adhered to

FINANCE AND BUDGETING ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monthly reforecasting, receipting, month end requirements etc
  • Undertaking audits that report on the standards of works that are being undertaken under PMO project plans

COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Review and assess the output specifications for the projects to ensure compliance in role
  • Understand the Management Services Agreement for the respective projects
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Project Agreement and associated service provider contracts
  • Work closely with the Commercial, Legal and Procurement teams on any contracts that need to be created to support our position pre and post any project
  • Work with business stakeholders to develop and review any variation requirements associated with the projects and demonstrating any commercial impact
