Description:

A career in our Customs and Trade Tax practice, known as Worldtrade Management Services (WMS) within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their indirect tax obligations across unique but ever changing indirect tax specialties. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing indirect taxes, dispute resolution, and global enterprise tax solutions.

Our team helps organizations manage indirect tax implications that result in cash flow optimisation and risk reduction. You’ll help with structuring business transactions, developing efficient supply chain models, and handling customs and indirect tax disputes, as well as implementing indirect tax statutes.

  • To work on a wide range of projects and client service management accounts for the WMS team across the East Asia region. Client projects may typically include the following topics; Free Trade Agreements, customs valuation and classification, import / export compliance, strategic goods controls, global trade strategy, savings opportunity reviews, and major business restructuring
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of trade regulations to effectively communicate solutions with clients.
  • To work in a fast paced environment where you are encouraged to develop and deliver innovative solutions; and
  • To support the team’s more senior staff with business development activities involving both our internal networks and external contacts

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Global Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, or any relevant field.
  • 1 year of related experience in customs and international trade; corporate tax or indirect tax.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Possess strong research and analytical skills.
  • Having interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An interest in developing a career as a specialist customs and international trade advisor.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Foreign language ability is a plus (preferably Mandarin speaking).
  • Data analytics skills are a plus.
