QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE

Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday Afternoons (weekends as needed)
Compensation: Salary
Location: Leamington, ON

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Associate will assist in the developing and maintaining the Quality Management System to support the organization’s business operations and manufacturing processes in compliance with the Cannabis Act and its Regulations. This position will require you to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to changing business needs while performing a variety of tasks.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT TO DO:

  • Embodying Auxly business mission and strategy and acting in a responsible, ethical, and honest behavior while consistently leading by example.
  • Providing technical leadership and vision ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with standard operating procedures pertinent to business needs and implementing change controls to optimize regulatory performance.
  • Liaising with department managers to provide support and/or problem solving for new initiatives and trials.
  • Providing support for maintaining and retrieval of documents/ information from document management systems
  • Contributing to the creation or update of standard operating procedures, forms, and work instructions.
  • Reviewing batch and related documents e.g., CofAs for compliance and preparing release documentation.
  • Leading and guiding personnel on completion of non-conformances investigation and CAPA processes, while providing coaching to operations.
  • Preparing for and participating in internal and external quality audits in conjunction with the Quality and Regulatory Departments.
  • Promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Collaborating with other relevant departments such as operations, security, cultivation, facilities management to ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations and guidelines.
  • Other tasks as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree or diploma from an accredited institution (University or College) is required.
  • Previous experience in a QC/QA or as a Quality Assurance Associate in a GPP, HACCP, or GAP regulated environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, address multiple issues, and handle multiple deadlines, in a hands-on environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
  • Experience in writing SOP’s, deviations, investigations, non-conformances, and change management documents is an asset.
  • Previously demonstrated solid decision-making, training, and monitoring skills.
  • Strong computer skills including the use of ERP system, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Google applications.
  • Strong leadership skills along with strategic thinking ability
  • Effective communicator, ability to multitask, analytical and attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
