JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director, Professional Services & ESG, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and will oversee the Academic Program Accreditations building and nurturing relationships with post-secondary environmental programs across Canada.
As a key member of the Professional Services team, the Associate Registrar Post-Secondary Programs Accreditation will be responsible for growing and developing the International Accreditation program and the Training Course Certification program. This role also identifies opportunities for relationship and network building to promote ECO Canada’s other flagship programs like the EP/EPt Designation and Employment Programs.
While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of their ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong communication, interpersonal/relationship-building skills and interest in liaising with post-secondary programs, training course providers, and other stakeholders in the environmental sector.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Great attitude and ability to manage the program effectively while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Great telephone and email communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a results-focused environment and to drive growth.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and a willingness to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Ability to measure success metrics and identify trends.
  • Previous knowledge or desire to learn about Canada’s environmental workforce.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, background in administration, project management, environmental field, or similar is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in higher education and management experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly with Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in French is a strong asset.
    This role is a permanent full-time position. ECO Canada offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days per week at the Calgary office and the option to work remotely for the remaining 2 days).

Responsibilities:

New Products and Market Development, Program Management

  • Lead the development and expansion of Accreditation and Training Courses certification (TCC) related services.
  • Developing new ideas, concepts, and products specific to Accreditation, International Accreditation, and Training Course Certification.
  • Actively explore and expand ECO’s outreach in new markets both nationally and internationally.
  • Support the growth, evolution, and continual improvement of Accreditation, International Accreditation and Training Courses certification programs.
  • Lead new business and proposal development initiatives to support the growth of Accreditation and TCC programs.
  • Plan budget and annual goals for programs, track progress, and implement improvements

Develop Policy and Procedure Maintenance

  • Assessment of existing accreditation policies and procedures to identify areas of improvement.
  • Streamline existing and develop and implement new procedures as required.
  • Recruitment, development, and ongoing support for site reviewers.
  • Update, create, and improve guidance documents for site reviewers and programs.
  • Quality assurance and continual improvement in accreditation process and program deliver.

Applicant Engagement

  • Work with the marketing team to promote Accreditation, International Accreditation, and Training Course Certification.
  • Engage with interested programs or course providers and provide information about the programs and the application process.
  • Ensure digital content is up to date and reflects current procedures for customers.
  • Supporting the marketing and communications teams with content for newsletters and periodic updates.
  • Coordinate the evaluation requirements for site reviewers and applicants.
  • Lead end-to-end process development for international accreditation services.
  • Respond to applicant questions and provide excellent customer service.
  • Act as a liaison and point person with external vendors supporting existing accreditation partner activities such as renewals, reporting, and site visits.
  • Perform active outreach to training course providers to grow the Training Course Certification program.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Team Building

  • Support the Professional Services Team in new project development, proposal writing, and the execution of other ongoing programs/projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong links between Certification and Accreditation programs, leveraging Accredited Grad-certified membership to enhance the EP product visibility.
  • Participate in events and speaking opportunities across Canada to promote Accreditation and Training Course Certification (occasional business travel is required).
  • Work with the research team to align National Occupation Standards with evaluation criteria.

Reporting

  • Maintain and improve the dashboard for accreditation and develop dashboards for Training Course Certification and International Accreditation.
  • Analysis of site review reports and notes from meetings with programs for consideration of future program improvements and content development.
  • Weekly/monthly progress reporting as required by the department.
