What you’ll be doing
You’ll report into the Senior Manager & Team Lead, Business Banking and will work closely with a Relationship Manager, Business Banking to support client origination, relationship and portfolio management processes as well as assist with client specific financing and cash management solutions. You will perform financial analysis while developing a solid understanding of targeted industries represented by the clients/prospects to which you are assigned to support. You will support business development initiatives with a focus on meeting growth targets and identify business opportunities and financing solutions to meet the needs of the client.

How you’ll succeed
- Business Development Support – Connect with both existing and potential clients including Centres of Influence (COIs) to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue, uncovering high-value opportunities to refer to the Relationship Manager. Assist with the execution of business development initiatives and client functions as appropriate to contribute and enhance the sales pipeline. Proactively participate in business development events to build and enhance CIBC presence and gain market share. Identify and introduce personal opportunities to Personal Banking and Imperial Service partners to further deepen client relationships and support more complex personal needs and planning
- Client Sales and Service Support – Assist the Relationship Manager in coordinating sales activities for both existing and prospective clients. Identify and analyze business growth opportunities through comprehensive industry, client and prospect research. Assist with financing and cash management proposals in addition to pricing strategies which ensure achievement of targeted profitability thresholds. Promote and demonstrate the use of digital banking options by introducing the client to alternative ways to bank. From time to time, cover vacant portfolios on a temporary basis.
- Credit Risk Management - Exercise appropriate due diligence prior to making credit recommendations and similarly prior to authorizing or approving any financial transaction or completion of any product sales. Follow established bank policies, procedures, guidelines, practices and required documentation; complete all risk activities.
