What you will do
The PGIM Institutional Relationship Group (IRG) Associate Relationship Manager will be responsible for assisting IRG’s Managing Director in their marketing, door opening, and client servicing efforts across EMEA to enhance the client experience of PGIM’s institutional Chief Investment Officer relationships. The goal is to increase PGIM’s visibility/recognition in the market and ultimately assets under management across all asset classes. The role holder will represent the full range of PGIM’s product offerings and will be have experience in engaging with asset owners across the region.
A fundamental requirement of this role is that it is a regulated activity and in scope of the Certification Regime. It is therefore subject to the Conduct rules set by the FCA. You are required to familiarise yourself and comply with the Conduct Rules and complete such ongoing training and competence requirements required by the FCA and the company from time to time. This includes passing an annual fitness and propriety assessment.

What you can expect

  • Participate as a member of an institutional relationship management team focused on servicing CIOs and investment staff at key institutional clients and prospective clients.
  • Develop asset class fluency and solid understanding of PGIM’s flagship strategies (Fixed Income, Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt).
  • Interface with your region’s institutional relationship manager and BU-specific sales reps, portfolio managers, and product specialists to prep for and organize client meetings.
  • Assist in the maintenance of coordinated communication of client coverage across IRG and BU sales professionals.
  • Support relationship managers with on-going analysis and research of client accounts and market trends by immersion in trade journals and industry new outlets.
  • Work with relationship manager to understand and support in the coverage of distinct institutional channels (corporates, public pensions, Sovereign Wealth Funds and insurance) active in the institutional space and how PGIM capabilities and strategies map within the various channels.
  • Support and facilitate pension fund coverage strategy on key accounts across regions where relevant– e.g. Brightwell, Unilever, PKA, Ilmarinen, etc).
  • Perform client research using periodicals (ie., P&I and IPE), pension funds internet portals, market data services (i.e. Global Sovereign Wealth Fund) to maintain client profiles and keep institutional relationship manager apprised of all significant personnel and organizational changes at key client institutions.
  • Assist, as appropriate, with the production of client meeting notes and posting to Salesforce, with attention to trends and strategic decisions.
  • Understand tailored conference plans for each region; e.g. UK PLSA, Milken, PGIM Best Ideas, etc.
  • Where appropriate, attend and co-host of PGIM stands/booths at industry and PGIM-sponsored events.
  • Assist in maintaining the Salesforce CRM company profiles for the Top Tier prospects. This would include background on clients and their current PGIM exposure (AUM) and history with PGIM businesses to provide a consistent preparation framework for relationship managers, PM’s and senior executives. Ensure contacts and meeting notes are updated and current.
  • Coordinate with the IRG and IAS team members to organize content for client presentations.
  • Work with compliance and/or PGIM Marketing to create and deliver effective PGIM Introductory presentation materials for institutional relationship managers and ensure best practice across all regions.
  • Provide backup client service for clients when IRG team members are travelling or unavailable.
  • Work closely with IRG’s Project Director to facilitate all aspects of maintenance and improvement of the infrastructure and business systems that support IRG.
  • Help to build trusted, strategic relationships with a defined client universe including pension funds, insurance companies and client facing investment consultants.
  • Aid in the improvement of access for the business units and help increase assets under management across all asset classes.

What you will bring

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent as a minimum requirement.
  • Obtain and maintain an Individual Certificate of Fitness and Propriety that will be issued by the company annually. The company will set such conditions as may be required by the FCA or market/best practice for the award of the Certificate of Fitness from time to time including the completion and evidencing of appropriate hours of relevant CPD.
  • 2-5 years of investment management or consultancy client experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of institutional channels across UK and Nordics.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to conduct sales in a consultative manner, sharing thought leadership and innovative strategic solutions with potential clients.
  • Ability to engage, advisory dialogue with existing and potential investors.
  • Willingness and ability to develop influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong time management skills.
  • A personal commitment to self-development, inclusion, integrity and high ethical standards.
