Description:

BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Recent graduate or 1-2 years’ experience as an analyst in the metals or mining space, preferably with direct exposure to ferrous and other commodities .
Understanding of environmental, social and governance concerns pertinent to the mining industry .
Degree educated, for example including geology, mining finance, engineering, chemical disciplines, economics, or business .
Excellent spoken and written English -language skills.
Fresh Graduates from mentioned background above are highly encouraged to apply.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Innovative thinking and proactivity , with a focus on creative visualization and date representation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office products. (Non-Negotiable)
Solid numeric analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.
Exposure with Tableau and PowerBI is highly desired.
Familiarity with VBA, and SQL and/or Python programming language is a plus.

The Role: Research Associate - Metals and Mining Research
The Team: Our Commodity Briefing Service team provides in-depth expert insight into the metals and mining sector. Able to leverage off an unsurpassed level of experience and data, from worldwide exploration, development and production to strategic planning and acquisitions activity — this group delivers reliable, unbiased research and analysis drawn directly from extensive industry contacts, global news, and other information sources. Our high-quality products and services help clients identify, benchmark and value new business opportunities, monitor competitors and market trends, and act on strategies more confidently and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

Modeling end-sector supply & demand for a commodity’s supply chain.
Assessing impacts of energy transition efforts on future demand.
Researching, analy z ing and publishing commentary on topical events pertinent to metals & mining markets.
Brainstorming innovative data delivery approaches, including original infographics , that highlight the power of S&P Global analytics.
Communication on and defen s e of your work to clients.
Some business travel may be required.
