Analytical Sciences plays a crucial role in advancing new biopharmaceutical drug projects to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. The analytical sciences team operates in a highly cross disciplinary environment in close collaboration with scientists across Biopharmaceutical Development, and the wider AstraZeneca organization.
We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Associate Technical Scientist on a 12 month fixed term contract,to join our talented Analytical Sciences group here at AstraZeneca. We want you to play a pivotal role in supporting development of protein biotherapeutics. You will be responsible for working in a collaborative manner and have an opportunity to work with multiple analytical measurement tools including chromatography, electrophoresis, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry, within the Analytical Sciences team.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc (or equivalent) biochemistry, chemistry, or biotechnology with a strong understanding of protein chemistry.
  • Experience planning and/or executing analytical experiments to meet project needs.
  • Experience with chromatography, electrophoresis, and spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR) to analyse protein biotherapeutics.
  • Experience working in a collaborative and fast paced environment, with strong time management skills.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • MSc, or equivalent
  • Practical experience with chromatography and spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR)
