Description:

Stantec is seeking an Associate Consultant or Senior Associate to join our busy Rivers and Coastal Management team as a technical team lead within our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to take the lead on complex river and coastal engineering and land development projects, providing strategic and detailed advice across the range of flood management issues.
You will be responsible for providing support to our regional Director, and leading our team in Scotland, located across Glasgow and Edinburgh, delivering a client centred service to our key clients. You will take responsibility for the whole project lifecycle from initial enquiry through to successful delivery and manage other members of the team as well as wider relationships across the business.
You may lead teams supporting our production of fluvial, coastal and surface water management schemes, flood risk assessments, hydraulic modelling and drainage design for both public and private clients, liaise with the design teams and client representatives. You will be the face of our team at all levels and be able to deal with clients and external consultees.

We are looking for someone with a BSc/BEng/MEng/MSc qualification and ideally chartered through a relevant institution ICE/CIWEM. You will need to have extensive experience in flood risk and water management in a general sense, but we are particularly interested to talk to you if you have experience of any of the following:

  • Design of sustainable drainage systems
  • Hydraulic modelling using ICM
  • Drainage modelling using Microdrainage/InfoDrainage
  • River engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation schemes

Your passion and experience of delivering quality design solutions is most crucial to your success in this role.
