As a System Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Business focused Solutions team based in Ingelheim, Germany. Here, you will have the opportunity to consult, design, and implement our job scheduling infrastructure to control jobs of various applications in the diverse landscape of Boehringer Ingelheim.
Depending on your experience and skills, this position can either be filled as Associate System Engineer or Senior System Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar field with few years of relevant working experience
• Technical proficiency in job automation and orchestration in Tools like Automic Workload Automation, Control-M or Redwood.
• Technical understanding of Database Systems (like PostgreSQL) and IT Infrastructure technologies (VMware, storage, networking technologies, Microsoft Technologies).
• SAP basic knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies, experience with agile project methodologies (Scrum), or work structure methods like Kanban
• Proactive mindset with readiness to travel, a focus on innovation, quality, and customer service, and the ability to quickly grasp new technologies
• Thrives as a team player in a multicultural environment, showcasing adaptability to changing environments and collaboration
• Excellent communication skills in English, German skills are beneficial

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AS SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER:

• Several years of working experience
• Experience in Project management, technical leadership and experience in a validated environment

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be the architect of job schedules for a variety of IT processes, such as SAP, ensuring they perform optimally and reliably.
• You will have the chance to create scripts and automation tools, transforming operations and minimizing the need for manual intervention.
• With your keen eye for detail, you will monitor system performance and job execution, fine-tuning as needed to enhance efficiency.
• Your problem-solving skills can shine as you quickly identify and resolve any issues related to job scheduling, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous business operations.
• Working hand in hand with other IT teams, you will seamlessly integrate job scheduling into the broader system architecture.
• Your meticulous nature will be put to good use as you maintain comprehensive documentation of jobs, infrastructure, and system landscape, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.

ADDITIONAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES AS SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER:

• Step into a pivotal role where you will coordinate initiatives and spearhead projects in your respective area.
• Your problem-solving skills will be showcased as you handle escalations and orchestrate solution implementations.
• With your commitment to excellence, you will drive quality assurance alignment, ensuring the service we provide meets compliance standards.
