Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

L3Harris needs an entry-level software engineer to perform design and development for radio network planning and custom network management application software, designed to interface with L3Harris and 3rd party equipment. The software engineer will be an Agile Scrum team member, participating in all relevant activities, including software development, manual and automated test, and integration and debug within a lab environment. The software engineer will become familiar with subset or preferred skills by means of on-the-job training.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Full stack software development, including interfaces to hardware, file management, TCP/IP networking, API endpoints for client applications, and user interface development.
  • Developing custom cross-platform software applications interfacing with L3Harris and 3rd party equipment.
  • Utilizing hardware and platforms including Windows, Linux, radios, and routers.
  • Creating software and specifications using L3Harris organizational software processes.
  • Performing software development functions on teams ranging from 5 to 15 staff members.
  • Opportunities to integrate with latest generation L3Harris radios and network simulation capabilities.
  • Coordination with engineering teams between Rochester and Sunrise FL.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with: C#, TCP/IP, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft .NET, Linux (Python, Bash), Source Control Software, Requirement Management, and Object Oriented Software Design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with their team and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • Proactive, fast learner, self-starter
    This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Continuous Integration Software and Issue Tracking Software.
  • Experience with REST and SNMP equipment management protocols.
  • Experience with: Microsoft .NET Core Framework, Angular, PKI, Docker, UML, Design Patterns, WebSockets, JSON, XML, SQL, SVN, Git, DOORS, Android, WPF, XAML, LINQ, C, C++, MVVM, JIRA, and Jenkins.
  • Experience and competency in formal software design, utilizing standard tools and standard approaches.
  • Experience and competency in software requirement analysis.
  • An understanding of technology in the network management and radio planning technology domain, including network planning and IP configuration.
  • Experience with Frequency Propagation Analysis Systems.
  • Experience with L3Harris radios.
  • Experience with Automated Test.
  • Experience with Software Process, including Agile.
