We have a rare opportunity for an Associate to Senior Associate to join our Commercial Insurance (Health Law) team in Sydney working with partner Marie-Clare Elder.
About the team and the work
- You will work in a fast-paced practice, primarily in the area of health, medical negligence, and personal injury litigation
- The team acts for medical practitioners, private hospitals/entities and allied health professionals in clinical negligence proceedings, coronial inquiries, disciplinary and regulatory matters
- The team provides advice and representation in the full suite of claims that can be made against health professionals, healthcare facilities and the like, including employment, impaired practitioner hearings, audits and reviews, criminal proceedings, privacy complaints, and hospital inquiries and investigations
- The team embraces working flexibly and therefore we welcome applications from candidates who are looking for flexibility in their next role

About you
- At least 3 years’ experience gained in a well-regarded defendant insurance practice
- Prior medical negligence experience is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Proactive approach to work and desire to work in a collaborative and supportive team
- A passion for health law or a strong desire to learn about this exciting practice area
