ABOUT THE ROLE

The European Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice is looking to recruit an Associate into its Valuations team. The work of the Valuations team is varied and includes the valuation of corporates primarily in the context of financial restructurings and transactions; debt valuation; and at times, the provision of M&A advisory services to corporate and lenders.
The Associate will be focused on providing valuations analysis but will also be expected to spend a minority of their time (c. 10%-20%) undertaking broader restructuring team activities such as restructuring/insolvency, accelerated M&A, and origination / business generation.
We offer a highly competitive base salary, excellent benefit package and performance related bonus. We also offer a range of training and development opportunities and would provide sponsorship for professional qualifications (e.g. the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform in-depth research of the valuation subjects and the markets in which they operate.
  • Carry out core valuation analysis on all engagements including analysis of quoted comparator and precedent transaction multiples, discounted cash flow analysis, and cost of capital estimation.
  • Critically analysing the historical and forecast financial performance of the valuation subjects, considering information from a variety of sources in doing so.
  • Report writing – at least for the sections covered by the analysis you undertake.
  • Performing work in areas outside of valuations, such as restructuring, insolvency, or accelerated M&A for a minority of your time (dependent on team requirements).
