Basic Function
The Warehouse Associate at SDM Specialty Health Services is responsible for the efficient picking, checking, packing, receiving and shipping of customer orders and following Standard Operating Procedures.
Nature and Scope
The Warehouse Associate receives, picks, checks, stages and ships drugs, medical supplies and patient materials following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The warehouse associate is responsible to perform other duties such as general housekeeping, inventory checks and quality assurance checks, etc. The work is performed according to set practices and procedure and is of a routine nature. The Warehouse Associate will assist the pharmacy management in the performance of his/her responsibilities and assume additional duties as directed.
Principal Accountabilities
- Receive and unload incoming products and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment
- Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received
- Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify Pharmacy Manager of findings
- Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items
- Replenish shelves in the pharmacy and packaging area
- Review Picking Request worksheets and verify patient details matches with drug product pharmacy label
- Verify if bundling of supplies is required with drug order
- Verify all product quantity, lot number and expiry dates
- Conduct weekly inventory counts
- Use of an RF Scanner where applicable
- Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs
- Identify damaged, lost or missing merchandise and notify Pharmacy Manager immediately
- Adjust work orders as required when the material is short, according to the pharmacy order
- Check courier options and create shipping label(s) to be affixed to pharmacy order
- Box, wrap and pack drug and/or supply orders in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, packaging area, fridges, freezers and workstations neat; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
- Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs
- Package and ship in accordance with SOP, packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
- Load pharmacy orders and transport to receiving area for courier pick up
- Replenish packaging materials in the pharmacy, fridge and freezer
- Assist pharmacy management and assume additional duties as directed
